Our goal is to keep you running. We offer tools and resources to help you achieve your goals.

Successfully treating runners takes a team of dedicated clinical professionals with extensive experience in working with athletes.

That’s why the Northwestern Medicine Running Medicine Clinic has a team of professionals from several different specialties. We focus on patient education, injury prevention, and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and long-term running injuries.

The initial running evaluation includes:

  • Assessing your health history with a physician
  • Establishing your running goals
  • Discussing your injury concerns
  • Considering relevant diagnostic testing, such as X-rays, MRI and electromyogram and nerve conduction studies — electrical tests of your nerves and muscles
